Melissa (Tribue) Martin
Melissa is a dynamic leader who excels in organizational development, courageous DEI execution, and strategic problem solving and managing high pressure situations with poise, competence, and a sense of humor. Melissa motivates others through her collaborative and empathetic approach. Over the course of her career in education, technology, and nonprofit management, Melissa has mastered the dynamics of managing organizational change coupled with optimizing operations, and creating sustainability not only in the market, but for the people who make up an organization’s identity.
At Base10, Melissa brings a wealth of experience in change management, process improvement, strategic planning, executive level decision making, and DEI+B execution. Melissa comes with experience with private-equity tech startups and nonprofit organizations where she has proven success in executing on the needs of the organization, establishing norms and processes centered in cross-functional collaboration, and implementing initiatives and tools necessary for teams and individual contributors to effectively execute. She approaches all angles of her work and communication with an empathetic and inclusive lens.
Melissa is a proud graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (M.S. Public Policy and Management) and Denison University (B.A. Biology). Melissa served as a founding advisory board member for the Greater Good Studio (Chicago, IL)- a strategic design firm. As a Posse Foundation alumnus, Melissa served as an Alumni Advisory Council member in Chicago where she was initially awarded the scholarship. Melissa is a Fellow with OnDeck Chief of Staff.
Melissa lives in Chicago with her husband, Zach, energetic son, Isaiah, and two guinea pigs- Kobe and Jimmy.
